According to the sales monitor Chart-Track, Blizzard’s Overwatch debuts at No.1 on the UK sales chart for the week ending May 28. This is Blizzard’s fastest selling console title the studio has ever released. One reason for the high amount of sales could be due to the easy accessibility of the game as it manages to create a complex yet simple combat element which has clearly appealed to many gamers.
While Blizzard has had little to no presence on consoles and is generally considered to be a PC developer, it has previously brought some franchises to consoles such as Diablo 3.
As well as Overwatch, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Doom had very successful sales finishing 2nd and 3rd on the same UK sales chart.
