The already crowded field of MOBAs is about to get even more packed, as Epic Games has announced that they will be bringing their own brand of action to the genre with Paragon.
According to Epic Games: “Paragon is the MOBA from Epic Games that puts you in the fight with explosive action, direct third-person control, and deep strategic choice”.
Paragon allows players to choose from an “ever-expanding roster of unique Heroes [and] earn cards”.
That implies that there is a exclusivity deal in place between Epic and Sony, but it should also mean that there will be a Paragon Xbox One release date sometime in the future. The trailer depicts an arena with two cores – similar to standard MOBA games – with a team of 5 heroes attempting to destroy the other teams core. This is not a port. The gameplay feels great on DualShock 4. From the more accurate Gameplay trailer, it looks to be a lot of fun.
Online testing for the game begins in January, with paid Early Access coming in Spring, and Open Beta in Summer 2016.
