Funcom has announced that Conan Exiles will be coming to consoles, following a debut on PC via Early Access this summer. An open-world survival-based adventure set in the fantasy world of Conan the Barbarian, Conan Exiles tasks players with building and dominating in a brutal desert wasteland where only the strongest survive.“There is no better setting for an open-world survival game than the world of Conan,” says Funcom Creative Director Joel Bylos. “Hyboria is a harsh and unforgiving land where only the strongest can survive while the weak are swiftly cut down. Whether it is hunting animals for food, fighting monsters and other players, or building entire settlements, we want to make sure players feel like they are really fighting to survive and prosper in the most brutal fantasy world ever.”Featuring a single-player mode, Conan Exiles is described as being a multiplayer game “first and foremost” on either public or private servers. You’ll play as one of thousands of exiles cast out of society and left to fend for themselves in a world overrun with enemies and threats. You’ll build yourself a shelter, grow crops, hunt animals for food, and harvest resources used to build weapons and useful tools.Able to ride across and explore the vast world alone or together with a band of other players, Conan Exiles will allow you to create entire settlements and fortified stronghold, as well as engage in “savage, fast-paced combat” with “bloody and bone-crushing attacks that will see heads rolling and limbs flying.” Conan Exiles will be coming to PC and consoles, but a release window has yet to be confirmed.
