Clash of Clans is one of the most popular and polarizing games that currently exists. Though millions of people have played the game obsessively, there are still some secret tips and tricks most people aren’t aware of. Here, we present our list of the top eight tips and tricks every Clash of Clan player needs to know. Well, what are you waiting for? Check them out for yourself below!
Number Eight: Don’t Spend Gems for Your Convenience
Rather than spending your gems to speed up the progress of the game, save them and have some patience. Sure, you’ll have the perk of immediate gratification if you spend them right away, but you never know how those gems could save your (virtual) life later on.
Number Seven: In Clash of Clans, The Best Offense Is a Good Defense
If you’re an offensive player, don’t forget to build up at least some semblance of a defense (and vice versa). Playing the game optimally requires a balance of both offensive and defensive moves, and it’s important to know when to make which call. If you’re focused on defense, for example, make sure to build up your town hall and walls first, but don’t neglect your barracks.
Number Six: Use Your Shields
If you’re in the midst of an attack and 40 percent of your town has been destroyed, then you’re automatically given a shield that lasts 12 hours. When you get this shield, don’t attack right away. Instead, focus on rebuilding your economy, your army, and upgrading your towers.
Number Five: Compartmentalize
One of the most basic concepts of Clash of Clans is to keep as many walls between your resources and potential enemies as possible. The best way to accomplish this is to first build a wall around your perimeter that doesn’t have any gaps. Keep your structures as close together as possible, and form compartments with upgraded walls. If and when you are attacked, this will slow your enemy’s progress quite significantly.
Number Four: An Easy Target Isn’t Necessarily the Best Target
Just because you see an enemy you know you can destroy doesn’t mean you should attack them right away (if at all). For example, if you attack someone with a significantly lower Town Hall than yours, then you get a smaller portion of the winnings. Choose your enemies wisely.
Number Three: Use Other Players
Coordinated attacks aren’t for beginners, but they can be a lot of fun. If you’ve gone through all of the single-player levels, rebuilt your castle, and maxed out your village level, then it’s time to think about bringing other players into the mix. However, it’s important to remember that if you use other clans, you’ll be expected to contribute as well.
Number Two: Choose the Right Opponents in Clan Wars
In Clan Wars, it’s a wise move to attack the unstarred villages first, since they offer the most potential gains. When picking your first targets, let the game’s system match you with an appropriate opponent. You might feel good about yourself by defeating tougher opponents, but this could make things more difficult for your lower-level allies.
Number One: Scout Out Your Opponents
This might sound obvious, but it’s a skill that’s necessary to be successful. Always – and we mean always – scout out your target enemies the day before the war. It’s the one trick that unsuccessful players ignore most often, and it can make or break the outcome of a war. Happy gaming!
